In Underworld, Kate Beckinsale plays Selene, a vampire orphaned in the wake of a bloody Lycan attack who now works for the vampire clan as a trained killer. When the Lycans take a mysterious interest in a mortal doctor, Selene struggles to save him from the Lycan leader hellbent on ending the vampire bloodline.

A violent vampire movie with gothic undertones, Underworld is action-packed and visually dazzling. The movie also kicked off a franchise, so there are a few sequels you might want to add to your watchlist if you enjoy this one.
