Synopsis

Meet Ted Lasso, a small-time college football coach from Kansas who is hired to coach a professional football team in England. This despite having absolutely no experience whatsoever with the sport.

Jason Sudeikis is charming in the lead role, portraying Ted Lasso as a big-hearted and optimistic guy you can't help but cheer for. Plus, the series as a whole is comforting and irresistible, to the point where it's easy to love even if you're not into football, or American football, or any kind of sport.

After winning over the Internet thanks to its feel-good nature, Ted Lasso returned with Season 2 in July 2021. Sophomore slump? Never heard of it.

Ted Lasso proved to be a surprising hit shortly after its release and the show takes advantage of its momentum to build on its strengths. In the second season premiere, AFC Richmond is coming off a series of tie games and the team's rising star Dani is having trouble following a penalty attempt gone terribly wrong. Consequently Dr. Sharon (Sarah Niles), a sports psychologist, is brought in to help the team find its mojo.

The comedy received an impressive 20 nominations to the Emmy awards for its first season. If you haven't checked it out yet, that's even more incentive to tune in. Season 2 premiered on 23 July, with new episodes scheduled to drop on Apple TV+ every Friday. There will be 12 episodes this season – and the series has already been renewed for Season 3.
