Al Pacino won his first Best Actor Oscar for his brilliant portrayal of an overbearing, blind retired lieutenant colonel who hires a young guardian (Chris O'Donnell), to assist him. It's a heart-wrenching and heartwarming tale of opposites attracting when they embark on a wild weekend trip that will change the lives of both men forever.

Cast and crew

  • Al Pacino
  • Chris O'Donnell
  • James Rebhorn
Scent of a Woman revolves around a prep school student, Charlie, who takes a job as an assistant to an irritable, blind, medically retired army officer in order to make some extra cash. He soon finds that the job is not at all what he anticipated, especially after the colonel drags him to New York for a weekend of indulgences.

Al Pacino shines as the angry, depressed colonel, but Chris O'Donnell also offers a great performance as the prep student who is in over his head. A well-written coming-of-age story, Scent of a Woman is a beautiful film you won't be able to look away from.
