Our Flag Means Death centres on Stede Bonnet, a wealthy aristocrat in the 1700s – a time known as the Golden Age of Piracy. Longing for adventure, Bonnet leaves comfort behind and decides to pursue a career as a pirate.

However, a big problem is that he's not particularly good at the job. Luckily for him, he meets the legendary pirate Blackbeard. The 2 spark a friendship that eventually develops into much more.

The show is charming, funny and well-acted. It is also inspired by true events. All in all, Our Flag Means Death makes for a delightful binge.
