What is Legion?

Starring Downton Abbey's Dan Stevens in the lead role, Legion follows the story of David Haller. Diagnosed with schizophrenia at a young age, Haller has been in and out of psychiatric hospitals his whole life.

After a fateful meeting with another patient (Fargo's amazing Rachel Keller), Haller and the people around him begin to realise the voices and visions he experiences may not all be in his head.

In the comic book universe, Haller is the estranged and troubled son of Charles Xavier who himself exhibits a proclivity for telepathy and telekinesis.

Given FX's history of mature television shows like Sons of Anarchy and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (and Hawley's penchant for black humour), it's safe to assume Legion will be a comic book TV show will tackle some pretty serious themes. This is no Saturday morning Superhero Squad.
