Where to watch Legion online in Australia

Brodie Fogg 2 February 2017 NEWS

FX's first foray into the X-Men universe is Legion. Here's where you can watch it in Australia.

Noah Hawley of Fargo (TV series) fame is bringing the mysterious X-Men character Legion to the small screen. With the help of US TV network FX, Hawley brings the lesser-known comic book character to TV for an 8-episode pilot series.

What is Legion's Australian release date?

Legion was released in 2017 and quickly renewed for a second season to air in 2018. Season 2 consists of 11 episodes. The show was renewed for Season 3, scheduled to premiere sometime in 2019.

Where can I watch Legion in Australia?

The first two seasons of the show are available to stream on Foxtel Now. Alternatively, you can download episodes from Google Play, iTunes, Dendy Direct, the PlayStation Store and the Microsoft Store.

What is Legion?

Starring Downton Abbey's Dan Stevens in the lead role, Legion follows the story of David Haller. Diagnosed with schizophrenia at a young age, Haller has been in and out of psychiatric hospitals his whole life.

After a fateful meeting with another patient (Fargo's amazing Rachel Keller), Haller and the people around him begin to realise the voices and visions he experiences may not all be in his head.

In the comic book universe, Haller is the estranged and troubled son of Charles Xavier who himself exhibits a proclivity for telepathy and telekinesis.

Given FX's history of mature television shows like Sons of Anarchy and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (and Hawley's penchant for black humour), it's safe to assume Legion will be a comic book TV show will tackle some pretty serious themes. This is no Saturday morning Superhero Squad.
