With its second season drawing to a close and a third in the works, it's a good time to get hooked on DC's Legends of Tomorrow. Originally airing on The CW in America, there are plenty of ways to watch the time-travelling superhero series here in Australia. Whether you're into streaming or downloading, we've got your options covered.
In the year 2166, Earth lies in ruins. Vandal Savage, the immortal orchestrator of Earth's downfall, watches on in glee as the last vestiges of humanity give into chaos and destruction. Only one hero, Time Master Rip Hunter, dares hope that the world might yet be saved, and he hatches a plan as ambitious as it is desperate. Travelling 150 years into the past to 2016, Hunter assembles a hodgepodge team of heroes and villains: a billionaire inventor with a suit that can shrink him to the size of a pea, an ex-assassin who has defied death itself, a meta-human with two minds in one body, a pair of criminals with the powers of ice and fire, and the deadly duo of Hawkman and Hawkgirl.
Jumping from the 1950s to the 1980s to the distant future of 2046, the ragtag group must learn to set aside their many differences in order to track the nefarious Savage down before he can turn the very fabric of time against them.
Despite the defeat of Vandal Savage, the job isn't over. Stranded across different time periods, the victorious heroes don't feel much like celebrating, and it's up to newcomer Dr Nate Heywood to bring them back to the here and now before a new, even graver, threat turns Earth into its puppet. With the aid of the ever-capable Green Arrow, Heywood reunites the Legends and joins them in their new mission: to protect time itself from the forces of evil.
From Nazi-occupied Paris to Feudal Japan to Revolutionary-era America, the Legends are in for quite the history lesson as they seek out and squash the increasing number of time aberrations popping up throughout the past. Old friends become new enemies in the form of the Legion of Doom, a cabal intent on twisting history into a depraved version of its former self. If the Legends want to protect Earth's true legacy, they might just have to sacrifice everything they stand for…
By rewriting the past in order to defeat the Legion of Doom, the Legends have confused the course of history and created chronological anomalies throughout the time stream. Disappointed with their actions, Rip Hunter disbands the Legends and establishes the Time Bureau, a new organisation dedicated to protecting the stability of time itself. With new enemies on the way, though, the Time Bureau will find out the hard way that some problems can only be solved by the Legends.
