Home Alone 3

Home Alone 3

Year released

Action, comedy, crime

Alex Pruitt, an eight-year-old boy living in Chicago, must fend off international spies who seek a top-secret computer chip in his toy car.

Cast and crew

  • Alex D. Linz
  • Olek Krupa
  • Rya Kihlstedt
When four high-tech spies steal a top-secret microchip, they hide it in a remote-control toy car to fool customs. Following a baggage mix-up, the car ends up in the hands of eight-year-old Alex. The spies are willing to do everything it takes to get the chip back, including burglarising every house on Alex's street. Not to worry: the kid is prepared for their visit.

A bubbly entry in the franchise, Home Alone 3 is funny and cartoonish, which young viewers will particularly appreciate. Alex D. Linz fills in Macaulay Culkin's shoes well and the plot, though predictable, is compelling enough to keep you engaged all the way through. Home Alone 3 may not be an instant classic like the first movie in the franchise, but it's a worthy follow-up.
