What is Hamilton about?

The production stars Miranda in the titular role of US treasury secretary and Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, along with the original Broadway cast. The musical was inspired by the 2004 biography Alexander Hamilton by historian Ron Chernow. It chronicles Hamilton's ascent out of poverty and to power against the backdrop of the American War of Independence. The narrative is presented in the form of original, catchy hip-hop and R'n'B songs.

Is Hamilton any good?

Yes. Hamilton received numerous accolades since it premiered back off-Broadway in 2015, including 11 Tony Awards and the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. It has been announced that the musical will make its Australian premiere at the Sydney Lyric Theatre in 2021. Until then, this stage recording will make for an exciting watch.
