Groundhog Day

Groundhog Day

Year released

Comedy, fantasy, romance

Bill Murray plays a self-centred TV weatherman caught in a personal time warp, forced to relive one strange day over and over again. The jokes explode in this marvellously inventive and offbeat comedy.

Cast and crew

  • Bill Murray
  • Andie MacDowell
  • Chris Elliott
In Groundhog Day, Bill Murray plays Phil, a weatherman out to cover the annual emergence of the groundhog from its hole. But after he gets caught in a blizzard that he didn't predict, he surprisingly finds himself trapped in a time warp. As a result, Phil is doomed to relive the same day over and over again… until he gets it right.

This movie is well-acted, sweet and engaging from start to finish. The story is both heartfelt and amusing at times, so Groundhog Day offers something for everyone.

Oh, and the movie is an integral part of pop culture by now. If you haven't seen it yet, there's no time like the present to see what all the fuss is about.
