Synopsis

When obscenely rich hedge-fund manager James is convicted of fraud and sentenced to a stretch in San Quentin, the judge gives him one month to get his affairs in order. Knowing that he won't survive more than a few minutes in prison on his own, James desperately turns to Darnell – a black businessman who's never even had a parking ticket – for help.

As Darnell puts James through the wringer, both learn that they were wrong about many things, including each other.

Cast and crew

  • Will Ferrell
  • Kevin Hart
  • Alison Brie
Get Hard centres on a millionaire hedge fund manager, James, who is sentenced to prison. Before heading there, he has a month to get his affairs in order, so he decides to hire someone to help him prepare for what's to come. Enter Darnell, a hardworking small business owner who figures he can play the role of a convict in order to make some cash. Mayhem ensues.

A bawdy comedy, Get Hard is not recommended for the easily offended. However, Ferrell and Hart have great chemistry, which makes the movie a fun pick for an evening with friends.
