Fruits Basket revolves around a kind-hearted teenager, Tohru Honda, who resorts to living on her own following a tragedy. However, she is soon taken in by the family of a classmate, only to discover that they all bear an evil curse.

Whenever someone from the family is hugged by a member of the opposite sex, they turn into animals of the Chinese Zodiac. Tohru learns more about their hardship and strives to make their lives a little easier.

There are 2 Fruits Basket anime, both based on the manga series of the same name written and illustrated by Natsuki Takaya. The original anime premiered in 2001, while the reboot launched in 2019. Whichever version you choose, you'll get a sweet story with endearing characters and an attention-grabbing premise.
