Diary of a Future President
Coming of age, family, comedy
Elena Cañero-Reed will one day become President of the United States, but for now, she’s navigating her first year in the jungle that is middle school. As a sixth grader in Miami, Florida, Elena learns valuable lessons that will lay the foundation for her future success. Alongside her best friend Sasha, brother Bobby, mother Gabi and her mother’s new boyfriend, Sam, Elena documents the pivotal highs and lows of her journey in her trusty diary.
Cast and crew
Diary of a Future President centres around Elena, a Cuban-American 12-year-old girl navigating the ups and downs of middle school while she begins her journey to become the future president of the United States.
The protagonist struggles with issues like forgetting to do a homework assignment for the first time and deciding whether or not to keep a secret about her former best friend. All in all, this sounds like the type of Disney series that both adults and young adults can enjoy.
Diary of a Future President season 2 details
After a delightful freshman run, Diary of a Future President returned with new episodes on 18 August 2021. Season 2 continues to follow Elena, middle-schooler extraordinaire and future leader of the United States, as she enters the seventh grade.
The story is told using excerpts from Elena’s diary and chronicles how the young girl solidifies the path that will eventually take her to the White House, all while dealing with age-appropriate dilemmas and ordeals.
It’s captivating and relaxing, with a charming cast and relatable storylines. Based on the trailer, it looks like the school year is off to a rough start. Join Elena as she tries to make sense of all the changes ahead.

When products are grouped in a table or list, the order in which they are initially sorted may be influenced by a range of factors including price, fees and discounts; commercial partnerships; product features; and brand popularity. Some product issuers may provide products or offer services through multiple brands, associated companies or different labelling arrangements. This can make it difficult for consumers to compare alternatives or identify the companies behind the products. However, we aim to provide information to enable consumers to understand these issues.
