Set during the latter years of British rule in India, Black Narcissus follows a group of nuns who travel to the remote Palace of Mopu in the Himalayas to set up a mission school. Once there, however, isolation and illness quickly take their toll – and the arrival of a young man threatens to cause even more havoc.

Black Narcissus features great performances and haunting visuals. At only three episodes, it's a satisfying binge, managing to captivate from start to finish. If you like it, you might also want to check out the 1947 movie. Both are based on Rumer Godden's novel of the same name.
