Powered by an all-new Tensor G2 processor and featuring significant improvements to the camera and OLED display, it is a marked improvement on the Google Pixel 6.
Better yet, it has the same entry-level $999 price as its predecessor, with no sneaky markup when compared to the 2021 model. (We're looking at you, Apple.)

The Pixel 7 range starts at $999 in Australia. While we would hesitate to call that affordable, it is significantly cheaper than the flagship phones from Samsung and Apple. (The iPhone 14 starts at $1,399, while the Samsung Galaxy Fold will set you back $2,499.)
The most expensive model is the 512GB Pixel 7 Pro, which will set you back $1,599. Again, this is less expensive than Apple's equivalent phone (the iPhone 14 Pro), which weighs in at $2,249.

Which version should you buy?
If you're trying to save a few bucks, it's hard to look past the 128GB Pixel 7 – it's the only model under $1,000. It comes with a solid pair of cameras, reliable all-day battery life and the same powerful Tensor G2 processor as the Pixel 7 Pro. You also get mmWave 5G, which is something missing from the latest iPhone models.
On the other hand, if you are considering the 256GB version, we would recommend going for the 128GB Pixel 7 Pro. While it has less onboard storage, you are getting all of the advanced features of the Pro including an improved 120Hz refresh rate, double the RAM and a 48-megapixel 5x optical zoom camera for an added cost of $170. In the grand scheme of things, that isn't a huge amount of money for what amounts to a much better phone.
We asked Finder's expert phone reviewer, Alex Kidman, to weigh in with his thoughts. His verdict: get the Pixel 7 Pro.
"There's a lot to like about the Pixel 7 Pro. The slick new design looks lovely, while the cameras are generally superb.
