While the vast majority of sports events and competitions worldwide are on an extended hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, WWE has made the call to go ahead with Wrestlemania 36.
In a move that will delight wrestling fans and give casual fans or sports nuts at least something to watch, Wrestlemania 36 is being held over two nights on Sunday 5 April and Monday 6 April (AEST).
Hosted by former New England Patriots superstar Rob Gronkowski and featuring a host of wrestling's biggest names, WWE's biggest PPV, Wrestlemania 36, will be held behind closed doors for the first time.
Held over two nights at the WWE performance centre, Wrestlemania 36 gets underway at 9am AEST on both Sunday 5 April and Monday 6 April. Note that daylight savings ends this weekend in Australia.
In Australia, you have two options for watching some live wrestling action. The WWE has its own streaming platform, the WWE Network. You can also order it on Main Event. Read on for the particulars.
If you subscribe to the WWE Network, you will have access to literally thousands of hours of wrestling action live and on demand. It costs US$9.99 globally (around AUD$16.50) per month. If you're a new subscriber, WWE Network is currently offering the first month for free.
This means that if you only want to tune in to Wrestlemania 36, this is the perfect time to sign up. WWE Network is compatible with iOS and Android devices, PlayStation, Xbox, Apple TV, Roku and Smart TVs. The service allows you to access every single PPV from WWE, as well as PPVs from WCW, ECW and more.
Following the final night of Wrestlemania, WWE Network will also be releasing a documentary The Undertaker: Last Ride. WWE has kept information on this close to its chest, but it has indicated that the name of the documentary should give fans a hint.
Also for fans of the attitude era, there's another documentary that follows ex-WWE champion Edge return to the ring after what was thought to be career-ending spinal surgery.
Another option for watching Wrestlemania 36 in Australia is to watch it on pay-per-view with Main Event. If you have a Foxtel subscription, the entire event will set you back $29.95.
You can place an order via the Main Event website using the My Foxtel app, your Foxtel remote or your phone. You can also order the fight over the phone if you have Optus TV featuring Foxtel. Ordering through a phone agent will incur an additional $2 booking fee.
Please note that these matches are subject to change. It has been reported that Roman Reigns will miss the event for health precautions. WWE has since confirmed on Twitter that Reigns will be replaced by Braun Strowman, who now gets a shot at Goldberg for the WWE Universal Title.

Some product issuers may provide products or offer services through multiple brands, associated companies or different labelling arrangements. This can make it difficult for consumers to compare alternatives or identify the companies behind the products. However, we aim to provide information to enable consumers to understand these issues.
