The headline act at UFC 234 stars our very own Robert Whittaker taking on American Kelvin Gastelum for the UFC Middleweight belt. It is not the only intriguing match-up on the card, however. Also in the Middleweight division, Israel Adesanya takes on Anderson Silva, with UFC president Dana White suggesting that whoever wins that battle should be the next to challenge for the belt Whittaker currently holds.
But all eyes will be on the Australian, Whittaker. Can he retain his belt for a third time?
It will be a long day of UFC for Australian fight fans on Sunday, February 10. The action unfolds at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, but due to a need to fit in with international time zones, it starts early. The first punch will be thrown at 10.30am.
Given that you never know how long each bout will go for, it's always an estimated start time for any UFC headline fight. The same goes with UFC 234. However, if all goes to plan, it should begin at 3.30pm in Melbourne. Here is how that time translates around the country.

While you won't be able to watch the entire UFC 234 experience on Kayo Sports or Foxtel, a significant number of bouts can be viewed. Indeed, the ESPN channels will air a pre-show between 11am and 12pm, then it will show all four undercard bouts between 12pm and 2pm. If you're unfamiliar with these two services, here is a quick overview:
The new Kayo Sports streaming service has quickly become the best way to watch live sport in Australia. Launching in late 2018, it allows subscribers to stream 13 of the Foxtel sport channels to mobiles, tablets and TVs via an app, browsers or ChromeCast respectively. Those channels are Fox Sports 1-8, ESPN 1-2 and beIN Sports 1-3. In addition, it has a host of unique and innovative sports-specific viewing feature like splitview and highlight moments. At $25 per month, it's the best priced option, but with 14-day free trial, it costs nothing to sign up this weekend.
You can of course opt for the more traditional Foxtel experience offered by Foxtel Now. This is the streaming alternative to the premium Foxtel IQ service (where you get the set-top box), but you can't just subscribe to the sport channels. You have to buy the Entertainment pack as well, which bumps the price up to $54 per month. You also don't get the sports-specific viewing features.
In order to watch all of the 12 fights, including the main card, of UFC 234, you're going to need to take the pay-per-view route. This means purchasing the rights to watch the event live through a portal that suits you. Note if you intend to watch it at home in this manner, inviting some mates around to spread the cost – or encouraging them to provide the food and beer – is a handy way to go about it.
Via Foxtel IQ or Foxtel Now, you can watch all of UFC 234 by ordering the Whittaker vs Gastelum fight through Main Event. The cost is $54.95 and it can be ordered online, through the myfoxtel app, through Foxtel directly or using the phone.
The official UFC website and app also allows you to live stream UFC 234. The cost of watching the event is $60.49 for SD, or $71.49 for HD. There is a seven-day free trial, but the push here is to get you to look past one event and sign-up long-term. Indeed, the HD six-month subscription costs $98.46, not a heck of a lot more. The UFC Fight Pass app can be found on Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Android, iOS, LG Smart TVs, Samsung Smart TVs and Xbox. Or you can login and stream via a browser.
You can watch the UFC 234 through a PlayStation console, too. It appears as Live Events content, which – once purchased from the PlayStation Store – can be accessed from within the My Videos app on the PlayStation dashboard. The price is $71.49, but PlayStation Plus members get a 10% discount, taking it down to $64.34. However, it is only the Main Card that is being shown, however, with the UFC 234 live event kicking off from 2:00pm EDST.
Below you will find a list of pubs that have access to Foxtel and the ability to broadcast Main Event . Use the postcode search to find a pub near your location. Just be aware that while these pubs could show Main Event it doesn't mean they will. So make sure you ring ahead and check beforehand.
