How to watch Wests Tigers vs Gold Coast Titans NRL live and match preview

Posted: 8 May 2021 9:27 am

Can the wobbly Titans hang on to their top-8 spot or will the Tigers finally win back-to-back?

SUMMARY: Tigers vs Titans is exclusive to Fox Sports. Your best option is to watch live on Kayo unless you've already got a Fox Sports subscription. You can watch for free with this 14-day trial.

The Tigers will hopefully be brimming with confidence following their drought-breaking win over the Dragons last week. They are now only two points outside the top eight with a 2-6 record. After the Titans, they face the Knights in Magic Round.

The disappointing Titans (3-5 record) aren't living up to the pre-season hype following the recruitment of gun forwards David Fifita and Tino Fa'asuamaleaui. They need to fix their leaking defence and aim up for the full 80 minutes, starting this week.

Wests Tigers vs Titans match preview

Titans fans rejoice – big Tino is back! Barnstorming prop Tino Fa'asuamaleaui returns from a shoulder charge ban to hopefully stiffen his team's dodgy defence.

Winger Corey Thompson has been in sensational form but unfortunately he will miss the next eight weeks with a syndesmosis injury. Beau Fermor comes into the centres and Phillip Sami shifts to the wing.

With Tommy Talau suspended for a shoulder charge, Moses Mbye will play in the centres for the Tigers. There's still no sign of James Roberts, meaning the NRL's latest cult figure Zac Cini earns another chance to impress his growing fan base from the wing.

Titans' leaky ship

The Titans have leaked 112 points in their past 3 matches. Compare that to their opening 5 games when they conceded just 79 points. We're thinking coach Justin Holbrook will be cracking the whips to improve their defence at training and big Tino's return will boost their cause. Titans by 10 points.
