Sydney Swans vs Hawthorn Hawks

Former AFL giants Sydney and Hawthorn face off once more at the SCG on Saturday. This is how you can tune in.

The Sydney Swans and Hawthorn established one of the great modern AFL rivalries over the past decade. They met in the 2012 and 2014 grand finals, winning one apiece, and were model franchises for the rest of the competition to follow.

They both did their best to avoid a typically inevitable slide down the ladder, but the wolves are at their doors. The Swans are playing a number of youngsters in their rebuilding efforts. The Hawks are an older side and decorated coach Alastair Clarkson finds himself under pressure.

When is Sydney Swans vs Hawthorn Hawks?

Who will win Swans vs Hawthorn?

These teams played out some epic battles over a long period when both regularly contended for the AFL premiership. But both now seem a fair way from their next flag. Sydney are pushing forward with an extremely young side and trying to use the draft to their advantage.

The Hawks have been topping up their list with experienced talent in an effort to stay competitive, but cracks are appearing in 2020. We'll lean towards Hawthorn's wiser heads getting the points in this one.
