Roosters vs Panthers match preview

Roosters vs Panthers stats.

One of Penrith's biggest concerns was again on show in their loss to Melbourne last round – missing tackles. In the last 4 rounds the Panthers let slip 39 against Parramatta, 43 against New Zealand, a whopping 69 against Brisbane and 39 against the Storm.

It's a serious concern they need to fix before the finals. Their season average in the stat has jumped to 29.5. In their 38-12 round 15 win over the Roosters, they missed 30 tackles, so they'll be happy to get back to their season average this week.

The Roosters are aiming for a fifth consecutive win but will be without centre Josh Morris through injury. They proved they can win without Morris last week after he left the field after 30 minutes in the club's 28-0 win over fourth-placed Parramatta.

The battle for positions inside the top 8 is at fever pitch right now in what's been a thrilling NRL season. An upset Roosters win is certainly on the cards in this one.
