Where to watch Star Trek: Discovery online in Australia
A classic series has hit the internet with an all-new Star Trek made for online streaming services. Fans are going wild about it online and you don’t need to wait to watch. Here’s where you can watch Star Trek: Discovery online in Australia.
The history of the Star Trek series is long and winding, with series splitting off from the main series at every turn. Star Trek: Discovery is no different, picking up right at the end of the starship Shenzhou’s last moments alive during a battle between the Federation and the Klingons.
Set approximately ten years before the events of the original Star Trek series, the show centres on the cold war between the 24 houses of the Klingon Empire and the United Federation of Planets. The crew of the USS Discovery find themselves thrust into the conflict and must make harrowing decisions that will not only decide their fate but the fate of the entire Federation.
Leaving behind the usual confines of the Trek series, the crew of Discovery are on a support mission to help a pre-contact civilisation survive a deadly drought. From here, the crew becomes embroiled in an intergalactic war, meeting and fighting ancient species and contending with no shortage of life-threatening situations.
The series is focused around the character Burnham (Martin-Green), the first human to be raised by a Vulcan - in this case, Sarek from the original Star Trek series, played here by James Frain. Burnham is a tough but fallible character who finds herself caught between her heart and her head. Her various mistakes are fuelled by her past trauma, putting the universe at stake when she puts the entire Federation in danger at the hands of the Klingons.
All true Trek fans owe it to themselves to watch this new instalment online and join the crew of the USS Discovery. Read on to find out all the places to watch Star Trek: Discovery online here in Australia.
