How to watch St Kilda vs Hawthorn Hawks AFL live and match preview
The Saints and Hawks will be desperate for a win on Saturday or they can kiss their finals hopes goodbye.
St Kilda vs Hawthorn is a match-up of teams desperate for another win to keep their stuttering seasons alive. Not many pundits would have put the Hawks above the Saints, but that is the case for 15th-placed Hawthorn. The Saints are one place behind on the ladder.
Whichever team loses this match will almost certainly miss this year's AFL finals. The Hawks were never expected to make it as they continue to rebuild. But most footy fans held high hopes for the Saints given they were finals bolters in 2020 and progressed to the second week.
When is St Kilda vs Hawthorn?
Opening bounce at Marvel Stadium, Melbourne will be at 4:35pm AEST on Saturday 1 May.

St Kilda vs Hawthorn match preview
The Saints have the second-worst percentage in the AFL at just 67%, behind only the winless Kangaroos (45%). The likely return of big man Paddy Ryder can't come quick enough in an effort to get his team back on track. Ryder's tandem work with Rowan Marshall was a key factor in the Saints' march to the finals last season.
Hawks young gun Jacob Koschitzke is the man of the moment after picking up the round six Rising Star nominee. He starred up front in the thrilling win over the Crows with 5 goals, 14 disposals and 9 marks.
Going into round 7, Koschitzke was 1 of 14 players to have kicked at least 5 goals in a match under the AFL's new rules this season. He is Hawthorn's first Rising Star nominee since Mitch Lewis in round 18, 2019.
We're expecting a tight match here but with Ryder's likely return, we're tipping the Saints to triumph in a close one and reignite their struggling campaign.
