Who will win South Africa vs Sri Lanka?

Sri Lanka, now ranked ninth in the world in T20 cricket, won the 2014 edition of this tournament. South Africa, currently ranked fifth in T20 cricket, have never made it beyond the semi-finals. Both teams must win this match to keep their 2021 hopes alive.

The Proteas hold the advantage going into this game, having swept a 3-game T20 series against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka in September.

The Proteas won the first match by 28 runs, then games 2 and 3 by 9 and 10 wickets respectively. Quinton de Kock played a starring role, smashing 153 runs off 126 balls at the top of the order across the 3 games, and was dismissed only once.

Sri Lanka made only 154 batting first against the Aussies a few nights ago and will need to do better should they bat first against the Proteas.

Who knows what South Africa's tough week will mean for its performance. We think de Kock's return and his apology to teammates will galvanise the Proteas, helping them to a win in this one.
