The 2020 grand finalist Panthers open their season with a clash against North Queensland in Penrith.

SUMMARY: Panthers vs Cowboys is exclusive to Fox League. If you already subscribe to Foxtel you're good to go, if not your best option is stream live on Kayo Sports. You can watch for free using this 14-day trial. This gets you access to all its unique features and 50 additional live sports.

The Panthers are coming off a superb season in which they went on a club-record 17-match winning streak. That was ended by Melbourne Storm in the NRL grand final. This year, Paul Momirovski has won the battle for the centre spot left vacant after Brent Naden tested positive to cocaine and copped a four-week club ban.

The Cowboys begin their rebuild under new coach Todd Payten after finishing 14th last year. Wrecking ball Jason Taumalolo is expected to be used in shorter bursts and play more on the edges. Scott Drinkwater won the fullback jersey, pushing Valentine Holmes to the wing.

When is Panthers vs Cowboys?

Who will win Penrith vs North Queensland?

The Cowboys have not won at Penrith since 2016 and we can't see that changing this weekend. At the time of writing Todd Payten has gone with a bold decision to carry two hookers on the pine in Jake Granville and Reuben Cotter who was moved from the extended bench into the 17.

The Panthers have a quality spine in Nathan Cleary, Jarome Luai and Apisai Koroisau while the Cowboys are still working out their best combinations. Panthers by 20 points.
