The Eels and Dragons are both in sensational form. Who will close out round 5 with a bang?

SUMMARY: Eels vs Dragons is exclusive to Fox League. Unless you already subscribe to Foxtel, your best option is to watch live on Kayo Sports. Watch for free using this 14-day trial.

The Dragons have defied the critics to win their past three matches and move into the top eight. However, they've conceded the most points of the teams in the finals positions and will need to sharpen their defence against the powerhouse Eels.

Brad Arthur's unbeaten Eels have a favourable month ahead, with the toughest looking test a road trip to take on the Raiders on 17 April. Parramatta rarely lose at Bankwest Stadium too, although the Dragons did take the points there in round 14 last year.

Parramatta Eels vs St George Illawarra Dragons kick-off time

The Dragons make the trek to Bankwest Stadium for this match starting at 6:15pm AEST on Sunday 11 April.

Eels vs Dragons preview

Edge forward Ryan Matterson should return from concussion for the Eels after a false start last week. Bryce Cartwright will also make his club debut after recovering from a broken jaw.

There are some concerning stats emerging for erratic winger Blake Ferguson, who leads the NRL in both errors (11) and handling errors (9). Yet the Eels are strong in a number of areas as a team. That includes post contact metres, they are fourth in the NRL with 2,496. The Saints are 14th in that category.

Encouragingly for the Dragons, they sit fourth in points (75). But they are in the wrong territory for missed tackles (fifth in the NRL) and errors (fourth). Yes, the Dragons have surprised to date, but can count lowly North Queensland and Manly among their victories along with an injury ravaged Newcastle. Eels to be too strong in this one.
