Paramount Plus is now live in Australia, replacing 10 All Access. The new service comes with an influx of fresh content, including movies.
It also offers solid device compatibility – most notably with Chromecast, enabling users without a smart TV to cast content to their TV with ease. Is that you? Follow the steps below to get started.
Step 1: Set up your Google Chromecast
If you haven't already, you need to install and configure Chromecast for your TV.
1. Make sure you have an updated version of the Google Home app on your mobile device.
2. Plug your Chromecast dongle into one of the HDMI ports on your TV.
3. Plug Chromecast's power cable into a power socket.
4. Switch your TV to the appropriate HDMI input.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions, open the Google Home app when prompted and follow the steps.
6. You're done!
Note: If you have Chromecast with Google TV you'll need to set up your remote as well. After switching your TV to the right HDMI input the remote should pair automatically. If that doesn't happen, press and hold the Back and Home buttons on the remote until the LED light on the remote starts to pulse.
On the same note, your remote will automatically be configured in some cases.
Step 2: Log in to your Paramount Plus account
Next, make sure you have the Paramount Plus app on your mobile device. Log in with your credentials. If you have Chromecast with Google TV, navigate to Apps and install Paramount Plus, then log in with your credentials. If you get a prompt to set up your remote, follow the instructions here.
Step 3: Stream Paramount Plus to your TV using Chromecast
Once your Chromecast device is connected and you have the app, you can start streaming.
1. Select the movie or TV show you want to watch on your mobile device.
2. Tap on the Cast icon near the top corner of your screen.
3. Choose your TV from the list of available devices.
If you have Chromecast with Google TV, simply launch the Paramount Plus app from your home screen and start watching.
Alternatively, you can cast from your laptop as long as you use the Chrome browser and have the Google Cast extension. Access the Paramount Plus website from your browser and click on the Cast icon to watch on TV.
