The Bulldogs suffered losing streaks of 10, 6 and 5 during the season while the Cowboys lost 10 in a row themselves after sitting in a reasonable position at 5-6 at the midway point of the year.

Who will win North Queensland Cowboys vs Canterbury Bulldogs?

The Bulldogs recruited heavily in the off season and are full of optimism that a 5-year stint out of the finals might come to end. Their trial form says otherwise though with a heavy defeat to Cronulla in their most recent outing.

Matt Burton, Josh Addo-Carr, Matt Dufty, Tevita Pangai Junior and Paul Vaughan will add class but might take some time to gel.

The Cowboys' recruiting drive hasn't been as big, but they have made some structural changes in the hope of being more competitive.

The Bulldogs have won just 2 of their last 16 matches in Queensland and we think that poor record may continue as they keep finding their feet.
