Queenslanders might be feeling low after last weekend's State of Origin result. But their love of footy will come roaring back with this weekend's Cowboys vs Broncos clash.

Those who were in the losing Maroons side will no doubt look to make amends in this highly anticipated all-Queensland match as the regular NRL competition returns after a week off.

In a game of third (Cowboys) vs fifth (Broncos), both teams are looking to cement their position inside the top 8 as the finals draw ever closer.

Cowboys vs Broncos kick-off time

The all-sunshine state Cowboys vs Broncos clash is at 5:30pm on Saturday, 2 July at Queensland Country Bank Stadium, Townsville.

Cowboys vs Broncos match preview

There was already a Cowboys vs Broncos clash earlier this year, with the former team victorious 38-12.

The rise of the Cowboys has been evident all year, but Brisbane improved dramatically after that game, winning 9 of their past 12 matches.

Cowboys vs Broncos

Most of the Origin stars pulled up okay after last week's big game and so will be ready for Cowboys vs Broncos. The same goes for the players from the Pacific Test. Broncos prop Payne Haas suffered an ankle injury in Origin 2, but he has been named to play the Cowboys. The Broncos will also be buoyed by the return of skipper Adam Reynolds from a rib injury. Meanwhile, Cowboy Tom Gilbert is expected back from his eye injury in the second row.

With the 2 sides featuring players still smarting from Queensland's Origin loss, both will be keen to return to the winner's circle. With a home-ground advantage though, we think the Cowboys will have the edge vs the Broncos.
