Both the Cowboys and Broncos are showing signs of life. Who will earn state bragging rights this week?

SUMMARY: Cowboys vs Broncos is exclusive to Fox Sports. Your best option is to watch live on Kayo unless you've already got a Fox Sports subscription. You can watch for free with this 14-day trial.

The Broncos produced the greatest comeback in club history when they overcame a 22-0 deficit to defeat the Titans last week. Beat the Cowboys here and they can restore the fans' faith that they might just become the number one team in Queensland once more.

The Cowboys (3-5 record) are above the Broncos on the ladder but face a critical period. After this match, they tackle the Roosters, Knights and Warriors. North Queensland had won two straight before last week's narrow loss to the Kiwi outfit.

Cowboys vs Broncos - Last 5 meetings

For the Cowboys, Jake Clifford is back in the number seven jersey this week to replace Ben Hampton (pectoral injury). Javid Bowen was working as an electrician last year before coach Todd Payten handed him an NRL lifeline.

The nephew of Cowboys great Matt Bowen comes into the centres for his first NRL match since 2019, with Justin O'Neill sidelined (knee).

The Broncos are unchanged from last week's impressive comeback. Tyson Gamble looks to have cemented the halfback role. He is an excellent communicator and lifts his team with his passion and energy. His organisational skills allow Anthony Milford to play his natural game as a running five-eighth.

This is a tough one to pick and recent form doesn't provide many answers. Brisbane have won three and North Queensland two of their past five match-ups. Jason Taumalolo returned last week in a massive boost to the Cowboys but Broncos big boppers Payne Haas and Tevita Pangai Jr are smashing it.

We'll opt for the Broncos to get home against the Cowboys by four points.
