Model Squad docu-series to drop on hayu just in time for Melbourne Fashion Week

Alexandra Plesa 12 July 2018 NEWS

New series Model Squad hits the runway on hayu this September to give you a behind the scenes look at the glam world of high fashion.

The new docu-series drops on hayu this spring, just in time for Melbourne Fashion Week and the launch of the iconic New York Fashion Week. The fabulous show is set to follow nine in-demand supermodels as they take the world of fashion by storm and navigate this complicated, yet fascinating, industry.

Model Squad will feature Daniela Braga, Ashley Moore, Olivia Culpo, Ping Hue, Nadine Leopold, Hannah Ferguson, Caroline Lowe and Devon Windsor as they prepare for the American fall fashion season. Joining them will be none other than Australian model Shanina Shaik. She got her big break back in 2013, courtesy of the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, and has enjoyed a successful career ever since. Now, you can take a look behind the scenes to see her and the rest of the squad juggling their personal and professional lives in the make-or-break fashion industry.

Each girl will be dealing with her own set of problems ranging from rocky test shoots and career bumps to relationship issues and friendship mishaps. Olivia Culpo’s hopes of landing a Sports Illustrated booking will be crushed following a rocky shoot with photographer Yu Tsai. Meanwhile, Ping Hue, Devon Windsor, Ashley Moore and Daniela Braga explore new ways of advancing their careers. Shanina Shaik puts together a staycation that doesn’t go as smoothly as planned and Caroline Lowe struggles to successfully balance both her relationship and her job. Finally, Hannah Ferguson helps with hurricane relief, and Nadine Leopold books the runway of her dreams and has to keep her head high as the stakes are higher than ever. All in all, the "work hard, play hard" mantra is strong with these ones.

The two-week premiere event for Model Squad will be available to stream or download on hayu beginning Wednesday 5 September through to Friday 14 September, which is the same day as it is available in the US.
