Can the Sea Eagles bounce back against the powerhouse Bunnies after a round 1 thrashing?

SUMMARY: Manly vs Rabbitohs is exclusive to Fox League. If you're an existing Foxtel customer you're all set, otherwise your best option is to watch on Kayo Sports. Watch for free using this 14-day trial.

It's only round two and Rabbitohs coach Wayne Bennett has already wielded the axe, dropping off-season recruits Josh Mansour and Jacob Host from the side which lost to Melbourne Storm last week. Forward Tom Burgess has been cleared to play just a week after he was stretchered off with neck and shoulder injuries.

The Sea Eagles are largely unchanged, with forward Andrew Davey switching places with Jack Gosiewski in the run-on side. Manly have lost 9 of their past 10 games.

Sea Eagles vs Rabbitohs prediction

The Sea Eagles are a rabble without their injured star fullback Tom Trbojevic, who is at least two weeks away from returning.

Curtis Sironen has been scratched since the side was originally named leaving no noted backrowers on the bench. Kieran Foran will be playing with a cork. His halves partner Daly Cherry-Evans looked well off the pace in Manly's 46-4 loss to the Roosters.

With all that said though Manly fans should be excited as at the time of writing young gun Josh Schuster is currently named in jersey 18 to come off the bench and play his second ever first grade game.

The Rabbitohs players will be on notice after Bennett's axing of Mansour and Host. In the sole meeting between Souths and Manly in round 15 last year the Bunnies thrashed the Sea Eagles 56-16 who were once more missing Tom Trbojevic.

We expect them to put the cleaners through Manly again. We'll go with South Sydney by 20 points with Sydney's torrential rain the only thing stopping us from tipping 30 plus.
