Political tensions are threatening the much anticipated T20 World Cup clash between bitter rivals India and Pakistan, scheduled to take place this Monday (AEDT).

Violent clashes that have caused deaths in the Kashmir region are behind calls for India to pull out of the game but, for now at least, India's cricket board says the game will go ahead as planned.

The match is perhaps the showcase event at this T20 World Cup, which was to be played in Australia in 2020 before the tournament was shifted due to the coronavirus pandemic.

When is India vs Pakistan T20 match?

The game is scheduled to begin at 1am AEDT on Monday 25 October at the Dubai International Stadium. The T20 World Cup runs between Sunday 17 October and Sunday 14 November.

Who will win India vs Pakistan?

India hold an imposing record over Pakistan in T20 cricket, winning 7 of the 8 matches played. The last time the rivals met was at the 50-over World Cup in 2019. India won that match by 89 runs.

Virat Kohli will stand down as captain of the Indian T20 team after this tournament and will be determined to go out with a win – not just in this match but in the tournament proper. Pakistan can never be written off but look outsiders in this clash. India for us.
