Where to watch Hawaii Five-0 online in Australia

Adam Mathew 14 January 2019 NEWS

The Hawaii Five-0 reboot takes the adage "suns out, guns out" literally.

Odds are good-to-certain that you're all too young to remember the original Hawaii Five-O (1968), a sun-soaked and sexy police procedural that starred a chiseled Jack Lord and an impossibly baby-blue-eyed James MacArthur. (To be perfectly honest the most enduring thing about this show seems to be the kick-ass theme tune, or the catchphrase "book 'em, Danno!") Beyond that, and for those of you keeping score at home, this 2010 reimagining remains quite faithful to the original article...even though letter "O" in the title got swapped for a zero.

To better serve Google searches... Once again we're made privy to the daring day-to-day actions of a small, specialised DPS task force in Hawaii, headed by Lt. Commander Steve McGarrett, USNR. This elite crew enjoys full immunity and answers only to the Governor, allowing them to better investigate the most heinous of Hawaiian crimes (think: kidnapping, terrorism, grand theft and the odd assassination to mix things up).

Now in its ninth year of production, Hawaii Five-O has maintained quite an impressive standard in terms of performances and production values, The only mark against it is that the show-runners have run afoul of eyebrow-raising pay disputes which have caused beloved characters to exit early and oddly. Never a good look.
