How to watch Geelong Cats vs Port Adelaide Power AFL live and match preview

Posted: 21 May 2022 8:00 am

The Cats will be eager to stay in touch with the top 4 when they host Port Adelaide this week.

SUMMARY: Geelong Cats vs Port Adelaide Power is on Fox Footy. So unless you're in SA or already an existing Foxtel iQ customer with the Sports HD pack, your best option is to watch live on Kayo Sports. You can watch for free using this 14-day trial.

Geelong have been alternating results since Round 4 as they struggle to find consistency. With a 5-4 record, they still sit inside the top 8 despite their loss to the Saints last weekend.

Port Adelaide looked gone when they slumped to 0-5 after a horror opening to the season, but they've hit back hard to be just a game outside the top 8 heading into this clash.

Last week they comfortably defeated North Melbourne in Hobart to improve to 4-5.

When is Geelong vs Port Adelaide?

This clash is at Geelong's home ground of GMHBA Stadium on Saturday 21 May at 1:45pm AEST.

Geelong vs Port Adelaide match preview

Geelong have played some good football this year, but have also faded in and out of games which led to them holding a 5-4 record. The key for them is the performance of their key talls in Hawkins and Cameron, plus their intercept markers led by Tom Stewart.

In the first 5 rounds, Port Adelaide were averaging 51 inside 50s per game, but only 9 goals a week. In the past month, they have averaged 56 inside 50s per game and 13 goals per week.

Port Adelaide are getting more drive out of the middle and a greater spread of options in the forward half.

This match presents the toughest challenge of their recent run and we think they are up for it. However, tipping against the Cats at Kardinia Park is still a dangerous thing, and we think the home side will sneak home.
