Carlton vs Adelaide match preview
Carlton began life without Marc Pittonet in style with a commanding win over North Melbourne. The strength of their midfield and the firepower provided by Charlie Curnow and Harry McKay makes them a potent threat.
Adelaide let themselves down last week after a good run of form prior to that. The heavy loss to the Giants points to the likelihood of inconsistency in the young group.
Adelaide were impressive in patches against the Bombers on their last trip to Marvel Stadium, but the Blues look a step above them at this stage and should record another win.
