How to watch Carlton Blues vs Hawthorn Hawks AFL live and free

Carlton and Hawthorn, AFL teams heading in opposite directions, meet at Optus Stadium in Perth. This is how to watch.
After years of mediocrity, Carlton are finally showing some encouraging signs. The Blues have won two of their past three matches, including a thrashing of the Bulldogs. The only loss was a kick after the siren from ladder-leaders Port Adelaide, with optimism abounding at Carlton.
This week they take on a Hawthorn side that finds itself under real pressure for the first time in more than a decade. The Hawks have had an incredibly successful period, winning four flags under coach Alastair Clarkson. But they have slid all the way to 15th on the ladder in 2020.
When is Carlton vs Hawthorn?
With the AFL shifting into a vastly unfamiliar fixture to get through the pandemic, this match is the start of a Friday night double-header. The opening bounce is at 5:40pm AEST at Perth's Optus Stadium on Friday 31 July.

Who will win Carlton vs Hawthorn?
The fact Carlton are favourites to win this match is newsworthy in itself. Hawthorn have owned the Blues over the last 15 years, holding a 16-1 win-loss record during that time. But we think Carlton are favourites for good reason. The veteran Hawks have shown they can still perform on their day, including in their dominant victory over premiers Richmond just last month. We are picking the budding Blues however to add to Hawthorn's woes.
