The world's best pound-for-pound fighter, Canelo Alvarez, makes his much anticipated return to the ring this weekend. Here's how to watch in Australia.

SUMMARY: Canelo vs Smith is exclusive to streaming platform DAZN, which has just launched in Australia. You can watch some huge world title fights and much more on DAZN for just $2.99/month.

Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez is one of boxing's most versatile champions. He has claimed world titles in four weight divisions, ranging from 154-175lbs (70-79kg). His fight against England's Callum Smith will be his first since beating Sergey Kovalev in an eleventh round knockout in November 2019.

Interestingly, Alvarez fought, and beat, Smith's older brother Liam in 2016. Liam is now helping Smith with his preparations for this fight. "He is a superstar and you could probably say he is the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world," Smith said.

Who will win Alvarez vs Smith?

Smith is considered an extremely dangerous opponent for Canelo and is unbeaten in 27 fights, with 19 knockouts. The Liverpudlian is banking on his size advantage to cause a massive boilover here.

"In my view, he is a middleweight, Smith said. "The saying 'a good big 'un beats a good little 'un' is sometimes true. Sometimes all the ability in the world can't make up for a disadvantage you have in natural size. I believe that will play a part."

For all that we are tipping Alvarez's power, precision and experience to deliver him yet another victory here.
