Will the bowlers continue their dominance of the series?

SUMMARY: The Boxing Day Test is on Channel 7 and ad-free during play on Fox Cricket, meaning you can watch via Foxtel Now, Kayo Sports or Foxtel iQ. New customers can watch for free using this 10-day trial on Foxtel Now.

Australia took first blood in their 3-Test series vs South Africa as the focus moves to the traditional Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

After a few years of green pitches at the MCG, we're unlikely to see a similar surface for the Boxing Day Test this year.

That's especially coming after the pitch at the Gabba in the first Test, where the bowlers dominated.

What time does the Boxing Day Test start?

The Boxing Day Test starts at 10:30am AEDT on Monday 26 December at the MCG.

How to watch the Boxing Day Test live

There are 2 ways to watch the Boxing Day Test.

You can watch live and free on TV on Channel 7, but it will screen ads throughout the game.

If you live in WA, you'll have to switch channels during the broadcast as Channel 7 will air Sunrise at the start of the day before changing to the Boxing Day Test.

However, if you want to enjoy the Boxing Day Test uninterrupted, live and ad-break-free during play, you'll need Fox Cricket.

To watch it, you'll need a subscription to Kayo Sports, Foxtel iQ or Foxtel Now.

That way, you won't miss a minute of the series or any of the Australian cricket season as it unfolds.

Boxing Day Test preview

While we got a good look at how the bowlers are performing after the first Test, it wasn't the case with the batters.

And that was thanks to some tough conditions at the Gabba as well as excellent bowling from 2 world-class attacks.

34 wickets fell on a green top at the Gabba, finishing the Test within 2 days.

Boxing Day Test

Only 2 batters on both sides managed to get above 50 across the 4 innings.

Neither side could get a start. There were only 78 runs added for the first 3 wickets in this Test match across the 4 innings.

But South Africa as a whole have bigger batting issues, managing only 152 and 99 in both their innings.

It seems like batting partnerships will be the key for the Boxing Day Test.

It's obvious both sides have quality bowling attacks that can deliver, but it will depend on the batters making some runs to put the result beyond doubt.
