Sydney Sixers vs Sydney Thunder match preview
The Sixers have already booked their finals spot. The only variable is whether they can overtake the Scorchers at the top.
The Thunder helped their cause by snapping a 3-game losing streak when they beat the Renegades but they still have some work to do to lock away their own slot in the finals.
Aside from finals placings up for grabs, the match features an anticipated match-up between Australian teammates David Warner and Steve Smith.
David Warner hasn't yet dazzled in BBL|12, but he did look in good touch with his 29 against the Renegades. As we found out in the Test arena, never write off Warner, so big things could happen soon.
Even though he's only available for a handful of games, the Sixers certainly got value from Steve Smith. He became the first in the Sixers' men's side to hit a century in the BBL competition after their Strikers match.
The Sixers won the last Sydney Smash earlier in January by 7 wickets and should get over the line again.
