Meanwhile the West Indies won a 2-match Test series vs Bangladesh 2-0 back in June.

Australia and the West Indies last played a Test match between each other in January 2016.

Australia vs West Indies Test cricket series preview

Both teams will get back to the longer form of cricket with this Test series.

The West Indies have had a couple of long-form warm-up games while in Australia.

But only a few Australian players would have had a similar time in the middle with the Sheffield Shield, as many were playing at the T20 World Cup and the ODI series.

Australia vs West Indies

The lack of match practice won't faze Australia, as there has been enough cricket that players should still be in form.

The West Indies would have appreciated the couple of warm-up matches after a lacklustre T20 World Cup.

Australia have had the wood over the West Indies in Test series in recent times.

The West Indies last won a Test vs Australia in 2003, while Australia have won the past 8 series between the sides.

Only 4 members of the West Indies squad played the last series against Australia

But they have some exciting young players on the rise like fast bowlers Alzarri Joseph and Jayden Seales and batting prospect Tagenarine Chanderpaul, son of West Indies great Shivnarine Chanderpaul.

The bouncy Perth wicket could provide a good challenge for Australia against the Windies' opening bowling pair.

While Australia are expected to win, the new guard of Windies players will definitely make some noise.
