While this is Samoa's first appearance in a World Cup final, it represents a 14th appearance in a decider for Australia.
Samoa's turnaround has been quite remarkable after a heavy 60-6 trouncing at the hands of England in the opening group game.
That comeback was complete when they defeated that same team in the semi-finals last week.
Australia haven't conceded more than 14 points in a game during this event, beating Samoa twice at previous World Cups by an average of 36 points.
