Apple is known as a company that's happy to stampede over its users' needs just to ensure they stay in its ecosystem. With the launch of streaming service Apple TV+, the company is offering more ways to access the platform than via devices that boast the Apple logo.

Recently, the Apple TV app became available on compatible 2019 LG smart TVs in more than 80 countries. This gives users access to Apple's new Apple TV+ video subscription service, as well as the ability to rent or buy movies from iTunes. A quick click of the LG Magic Remote is all it takes to get started.

LG's 2019 TVs already support AirPlay 2 and HomeKit for wireless integration with Apple devices. Apple AirPlay 2 allows users to share or mirror content from their compatible iPhone, iPad or Mac directly to the TV. They can also play music on the TV and sync it with other AirPlay 2 compatible speakers anywhere in the home. Meanwhile, Apple HomeKit lets users easily and securely control their TV with the Home app on their iPhone or iPad, or by voice using Siri.

Additionally, the Apple TV app and Apple TV+ will be available on 2020 TVs at launch and on LG's 2018 TVs later this year via an over-the-air firmware upgrade.
