The long-running US series that revolutionized the TV landscape by pioneering the music competition genre is back. American Idol is delivering a new and exciting season in search of #TheNextIdol, with fresh faces and an exciting format sure to appeal to both veteran and newbie fans.
The current American Idol is a reboot, as the original series concluded its initial run in 2016. Fortunately, the popular show was revived by ABC, the network securing a new panel of judges and giving music fans another chance to root for their favorite performers.
In Season 16, Ryan Seacrest returns as host along with new judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and country singer Luke Bryan. Packed with star power and music royalty, the show has a good track record when it comes to creating some of the biggest names in the industry. Past winners include Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, and Jordin Sparks.
How to stream American Idol in Australia
The rebooted American Idol screens on FOX8, express from the US, with episodes airing Mondays and Tuesdays at 9:15 pm (AEDT). The show is exclusive to Foxtel, available to subscribers with the Entertainment Pack.
Following its broadcast on FOX8, American Idol episodes will be added to Foxtel’s On Demand library. If you have a Foxtel subscription, you can stream the show with the Foxtel app, available for free.
