Vodafone’s preorders for Note 8 come with bonus trade-in credit

The competition for Note 8 pre-orders, which open on 25 August 2017 (yes, that's tomorrow) was always going to be fierce. Fresh off decoupling smartphone repayments from its contract plans, Vodafone has revealed its own contract pricing for the freshly announced Samsung Galaxy Note 8 handset, available on 12, 24 or 36 month terms.
As with other carriers, pre-orders will receive a bonus wireless charging pad valued at $119, as well as Samsung's Screen Assure repair, which will fix one broken display on the phone in the first twelve months of ownership.
Where Vodafone's deals could differ for you is if you've got an old handset to get rid of. Vodafone is kicking off a nationwide trade-in scheme via Ingram Micro that will see customers able to score credit on their Vodafone bill when they trade in an old device. That's a deal that will apply to any Vodafone plan and any handset they're willing to take, but for Note 8 owners, Vodafone is sweetening the pot by offering $100 additional credit on top of the assessed value of the device. There's no word as yet as to typical offered prices, so it may be wise to shop around and make sure the trade-in offer (even with bonus $100 credit) is good value. On the other hand, if you want simple and you want a cheaper phone bill, it could be very appealing.
