Vodafone will sell Alcatel’s PLUS 12 tablet for $558
Alcatel's low-cost 2-in-1 Windows 10 tablet goes on sale today.
Alongside a bevy of low-cost smartphones, Alcatel also unveiled its first Windows 10 tablet device at this year's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. It's taken some time for the PLUS 12 to make its way to our shores, with Alcatel today announcing that Vodafone will be the retailer for its 2-in-1 device.
The PLUS 12 is a Windows 10 tablet with included keyboard case. In power terms, it's strictly low-tier with an Intel Celeron Processor N3350, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage, plus whatever microSD you'd care to throw in there. Despite the name, you're actually faced with an 11.6 inch Full HD touch display, backed by a 9600mAh battery.
Vodafone will sell the PLUS 12 for $558 outright, or on contract terms starting at $35 per month with a 1.5GB data allowance. The PLUS 12 doesn't actually have a SIM card slot, so for that deal, you also get a Pocket Wi-Fi device. Here's how Vodafone's plan pricing for the PLUS 12 with an included Pocket Wi-Fi compares:
|Plan||Monthly Cost||Included monthly data||Minimum 24 month cost|
|Vodafone Alcatel PLUS 12 & Pocket Wi-Fi 4G $35 Plan||$35||1.5GB||$840|
|Vodafone Alcatel PLUS 12 & Pocket Wi-Fi 4G $39 Plan||$39||3GB||$936|
|Vodafone Alcatel PLUS 12 & Pocket Wi-Fi 4G $48 Plan||$48||7GB||$1,152|
|Vodafone Alcatel PLUS 12 & Pocket Wi-Fi 4G $60 Plan||$60||12GB||$1,440|
