Vodafone switches up its mobile prepaid plans with new year-long and monthly deals

Alex Kidman 6 September 2018 NEWS

Choose between 365-day expiry plans or more feature-packed combo plans with Vodafone's new prepaid mobile offers.

Vodafone has updated its range of prepaid mobile plans with an eye to simple choices, boiling down options to just six plans across two plan types.

If you prefer to make a one-off payment each year with low usage, there are 3 new 365 Plus plans, with recharges at $30, $40 and $50. Credit lasts, as you might expect, for 365 days, with standard national calls charged at 20c/minute, texts at 20c each and data usage charged at 2c/MB.

For those who want more inclusions, there are 3 new Combo Plus plans, priced at $30, $40 and $50 respectively. The $30 recharge has a 28-day expiry, while the $40 and $50 recharges last for 35 days before requiring recharge. At launch, Vodafone is running a special on the $40 recharge at half price, bringing it down to $20 per recharge, although that's a deal that only lasts through to 2 October 2018.

The $30 recharge comes with unlimited standard national calls and texts along with 6GB of data, while the $40 ($20 on special) recharge has the same calls and texts, 17GB of data and an allotment of call inclusions to international destinations. The top tier $50 recharge is similar, but with 30GB of data and even more international calling inclusions.

Here's the rundown of Vodafone's new prepaid plans:

It's an interesting time for Vodafone in the mobile space, having recently announced intentions to merge with TPG to build what it calls a single "challenger telco" to take on the likes of Optus and Telstra in both the mobile and broadband space.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your reply.

You say my 365 Days credit will rollover when I recharge in Jan 2019. Can I still only pay $20?

    Regards,
    Bob

      Hi Bob,

Thank you for getting in touch with finder.

As long as your prepaid plan is 365 Days not 365 Plus, YES your credit will rollover and you can still pay $20.

      I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any other enquiries.

Thank you and have a wonderful day!

      Cheers,

I have a Voodafone prepaid with carry over credit. I pay $20 for 365 days. I have $120 credit. I have to recharge in January 2019. Will I lose my credit with the new prepaid plan or are they going to carry it on? I believe my $20 plan is going to a $30 plan. I just don’t know. Can you help with this info?

    Thanking you,
    Bob

      Hi Bob,

Thank you for getting in touch with finder.

With 365 Days plan flexible credit rolls over while with 365 Plus flexible credit rolls over, all other unused credit is forfeited. Please note that 365 Day recharges are only available if you’re already on it.

If you need further help or info on your prepaid credits please call Vodafone directly.

      I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any other enquiries.

Thank you and have a wonderful day!

      Cheers,
      Jeni
