Vodafone restores network after weekend outage
Vodafone customers may have had issues accessing services on their smartphones over the weekend, but the telco says that network issues have now been resolved.
It hass not been a stellar year for the overall stability of Australian mobile networks, with Telstra notably suffering from numerous outages during the year, leading to it offering multiple free data days as compensation. Virgin Mobile has also seen a single outage. Since Virgin's parent network is Optus, that means that only Vodafone had a spotless record - up until last night.
Over the weekend numerous Vodafone customers reported difficulty accessing the network, encompassing data, talk and text services. Reports of quite how widespread the issue was varied markedly, but Vodafone was quick to note the problem via its social media channels:
We're aware of an issue which is causing intermittent disruption to voice, data, and text services for some customers. (1/2)

It has been an exceptionally long time between large scale network failures for Vodafone. The company spent billions rebuilding its network in Australia following the mass outages it suffered back in 2010-2011, popularly dubbed "Vodafail".
