See when and where to buy the upcoming Vivienne Westwood x Vans collection.
Good news for quirky fashion lovers everywhere, skate brand Vans is teaming up with avant-garde luxury designer, Vivienne Westwood. It's a pairing that doesn't seem to make too much sense at first. Vans is about casual-cool style and Vivienne Westwood is known for a more-is-more, Harajuku-meets-Marie-Antoinette aesthetic. But once you see the first photos of the collection produced by this collaboration, it all starts to fall into place.
But before we delve into the details, first things first. When and where can you buy these fab sneakers? Well, you won't have to wait long. The collaboration will be available from 20 September (21 September for those of us in Australia and New Zealand). At this stage, it looks like they'll be sold at Vivienne Westwood stores but no word as to whether they'll drop into Vans stockists. We'll just have to keep our eyes firmly on the Vans stores when the collection drops.
There are six styles within the collection: two slip-on styles (one in the Classic Slip On style and a Style #53 loafer design), two high top sneakers (one in the Sk8-Hi design and the other a Pirate Boot Platform) and two lace-up shoes (one in the Authentic style and one in the Old Skool style).
The Classic Slip On follows Vans' classic checkers design but with red lettered motifs adding a Westwood-style experimental vibe. The Style #53 loafer is a vintage style of Vans and has been reimagined featuring Vivienne Westwood's signature orb symbol.

A dreamy blush shade is the new colour for the Sk8-Hi sneakers, which feature a picture of a postage stamp. The stamp carries details of the global release date and the address of Vivienne Westwood's London store. The other high top is quite different. Almost all black, the Pirate Boot style is decorated with a blush-coloured strap with Vivienne Westwood branding.
The low lace-ups are a bit different to the others – one in bold blue and the other a fiery, rust red. The blue iteration is true to the Authentic design but takes notes from Westwood in the print, which features lightning bolts and the orb motif. The rust pair is in the Old Skool style with contrasting yellow laces, yellow orb motifs and a "VW" monogram printed on the side.
The Vans x Vivienne Westwood collaboration is part of the Vivienne Westwood Anglomania collection.
