While large and mid-sized businesses use letterheads commonly, the fact remains that not many small businesses create their own personalised letterheads. Small businesses who do, however, can reap from a range of benefits. After all, a professional letterhead gives businesses a uniform manner of communicating with customers and vendors alike.
A letterhead, a seemingly inconsequential piece of stationery, includes information about your business such as its name, its logo, your contact details and perhaps an individual’s name and title as well.
A letterhead, in addition to making your business look more credible, also gives you the means to increase your brand’s recognition. When a business uses letterheads, it gives others the impression that they’re dealing with a business that consists of multiple employees, even if that’s not really the case. Besides, taking a professional approach can increase your confidence levels and it can also increase the confidence levels of people your business deals with.
Traditional or digital printing
Offset and letterpress printing methods remain common when it comes to printing letterheads, although some people turn to digital printing as well. The problem with using traditional methods is that they cost more and you also might have to order a set number of prints, which could be as many as 500. In such cases, the per-piece prices tend to be considerably higher for smaller orders. With digital letterheads, however, there is no such limitation and you can print as few or as many as you like.
When you order traditional letterheads in bulk and need to change some information, the ones you already have go to waste. With digital letterheads, you don’t have to order in bulk and you can edit any information that requires changing through a digital file.
Vistaprint offers its printing services to people from all over the world and letterhead printing is only one small part of this company’s overall operations. Its range of customisable products includes business cards, signs and banners, invitations, photo gifts, phone cases, labels, magnets and stickers. It also offers website and internet marketing, design and business services.
Vistaprint offers customisable letterheads in the standard A4 size. Its full-bleed size stands at 213 x 300mm, or 2517 x 3544 pixels and the final size is 210 x 297mm, or 2480 x 3508 pixels. All Vistaprint letterheads use a resolution of 300 DPI. What helps is that the use of multiple colours does not have an effect on the pricing, given that Vistaprint offers full-colour printing. The smooth finish matte paper your letterhead comes on is acid free, 92 brightness and 90 g/m² weight.
Multiple design options
Vistaprint offers more than 4,200 letterhead designs and these cover different industries. The website gives you the option to look for letterheads based on industry types, while some options include agriculture, animal care, automotive, beauty, construction, education, entertainment, information and technology, politics, property, retail, sports and travel. Alternatively, you can also base your search on style and some options include conservative, elegant, environmental, floral, modern, patriotic, retro, sensual and textures.
Easy ordering, convenient pricing
Ordering letterheads from Vistaprint is easy; all that’s required is for you to log on to their website. You can order as few as 10 sheets or as many as 2,000. While the pricing for a batch of 10 is not prohibitive (under $20), you save money when you order more. For example, while the per-piece cost when you order a batch of 10 is $2.00, it goes down to $1.00 if you order 50 and you pay as little as $0.20 per piece if your order 2,000.

Why print your letterheads with Vistaprint?
When you choose to get your letterheads from Vistaprint you can look forward to a number of benefits. For starters, in addition to offering scores of templates that you can personalise, it also gives you the option to upload your own design. This can include any kind of background you like, any colour, any kind of imagery and any textual content.
Supports multiple formats
If you choose to upload your own design, Vistaprint allows you to do so in multiple formats. Accepted file formats include Adobe Acrobat 9, Adobe Illustrator CS3, Adobe Photoshop CS3, Bitmap, GIF, JPEG, Microsoft PowerPoint 2010, Microsoft Publisher 2010, Microsoft Word 2010, PCX, PICT, PNG, PostScript, TIF, Windows Enhanced Metafile and Windows Metafile.
When it comes to personalising existing templates, Vistaprint offers a user-friendly system that is easy to work with, plus the entire process takes no more than a few minutes. When you work with existing templates you can insert logos, images and textual content. The text editor gives you the option to choose from different fonts, font sizes and font colours. If you wish to save changes for later, you can.
Once you finalise the design and are ready to place your order, you have the option to order matching envelopes. You can also order plain white envelopes or choose to not order any envelopes.
How much does Vistaprint charge for delivery?
Delivery costs vary in accordance with factors like the products you order, your delivery address and the shipping method you choose. The Vistaprint website offers its users a quote calculator through which you can calculate your shipping costs in advance. Alternatively, you can view exactly how much you have to pay for delivery during the checkout process.
If you order a batch of 10 letterheads that you require at an address in Melbourne’s CBD, you can expect to pay around $15 for rush deliveries, around $10 for priority deliveries and around $6 for economy. While rush deliveries come with a delivery time of up to three business days, this extends to seven calendar days in case of priority and 14 calendar days in case of standard. Rush delivery is offered on orders placed before 20:00hrs AEST.
In case your order includes multiple items, Vistaprint tries to deliver them together but does not guarantee this will happen. Your order can arrive in separate parts because it may include items that print in different production plants, or because different items print at different times. For example, if your order includes business cards along with letterheads and if the business cards print earlier than the letterheads, you’ll receive the business cards first.
