"Virgin Australia flight searches are steadily increasing as consumer confidence grows thanks to increased vaccination rates throughout Australia. With optimism that some states and territories will re-open their borders for Christmas, we're making it irresistible for Australian travellers to jump on our website and book their next summer holiday," said a Virgin Australia Group spokesperson.

Speaking of summer holidays, travel dates range from 11 October 2021 and 21 June 2022 with key dates available for the summer school holidays.

How good are these Virgin sale fares?

These aren't the cheapest Virgin Happy Hour fares we've seen starting from nearly 20% higher than the $49 starting price we've come to know and love.

Without included extras like checked baggage and seat selection, there's less to differentiate the airline from competitor Jetstar which has flights from $22 one way on offer until midnight Friday.

The value in this sale is the opportunity to earn double Status Credits and to lock in summer holiday travel. Virgin also has a fairly generous flexibility policy that allows for changes (you may have to pay a fare difference).

Before you book with Virgin Australia compare flights with KAYAK to see what suits your budget and needs.

This Virgin sale won't be around for long, it ends 11pm AEST 30 September 2021 (that's tonight!), unless sold out prior.
