Black Mirror Series 3 trailer
Ahead of the release of Series 3 of Charlie Brooker's anthology series Black Mirror, Netflix has debuted a new trailer for the six-part shockfest. Watch and squirm:
Gilmore Girls tease return
Elsewhere in "series Netflix has revived after they died elsewhere", we're being reminded that Gilmore Girls is back for four seasonally-themed episodes on 25 November. Here's the cast looking back on the original series:
Sigourney Weaver joins The Defenders
Completing a trilogy of Netflix news, we also got an exciting development for Marvel's The Defenders: Sigourney Weaver has been confirmed for the series, playing an as-yet unnamed villain. Cue much fanboy searching for subtexts relating to Alien, and speculation as to which villain she'll be portraying.
Where will Presto subscribers move to?
So when Presto shuts its doors in February next year, where will those subscribers go? New market share figures suggest that there are only 33,000 Presto subscribers who don't already have a second service. Whether they'll just jump ship to Netflix or Stan, or whether they'll stay semi-loyal to Foxtel by switching to Foxtel Play (now known as Foxtel Now), isn't yet clear. My guess? More will go to Netflix and Stan. We'll see.
Key new shows and movies this weekend
Netflix's big new show this weekend is Haters Back Off!, which debuts on 14 October. It's a comedy about a YouTube sensation who finds life on YouTube annoying. Don't we all? Also new on Netflix this weekend are fresh episodes of kids' show Project MC2 (14 October) and documentary Being George Clooney (15 October), which looks at the voiceover artists who dub Clooney films in international markets around the world.
Presto adds thriller White Noise on 14 October and David Lynch classic Wild At Heart on 15 October. Stan has the self-explanatory Beyond The Brick: A Lego Brickumentary on 15 October, and animation Norm Of The North on 14 October.
